Sewing Patterns – Easy PDF Download Format from Angela Kane

This is a quick introduction to my style of
dressmaking pattern This is the pattern downloaded from my Pattern’s
Page The layout is for International A4 Paper size If you are in the US you probably want to
choose the Letter size Most importantly, you must check that your
printer is printing to scale You want your pattern to be accurate Print just this page, page 2 to start with
and measure the squares The whole page must measure accurately in
both directions Make sure you set your scale for printing
to a hundred percent to no scaling or to actual size It’s unusual but some printers misbehave in which case, check your printer’s manual and make sure your driver software is up to
date Different browsers use different PDF readers
also Let me know if you need help A 1/16″ or 2mm is about the maximum tolerance
over this single page This page reminds you that my patterns are
net patterns which means you add seam allowance as you
cut out The black line represent the stitching line
and you add 5/8″ seam allowance Notches are for matching seams. Just snip
into the seam allowance This page shows you all the pieces necessary
to make your garment The following pages form the pattern when
taped together For this pattern the main garment pieces are
white lining pieces are shaded and interfacing is
yellow The pages are so easy to tape up Just butt them together following the page
numbering My patterns are easier than any other you
will find online Give them a try Unlimited downloads for Full Members Visit my channel and find out how to join

  1. Hello Nina,

It's just a wide perspex ruler. You are likely to find it in sewing stores. It measures 24" by 6". I think you can get them in metric as well. I just find it very useful for checking my grid but you can measure the grid with any ruler. Make sure you measure over the whole page not just one 1" square.

  2. Hi, Yes, I would love to do more menswear. I have men making up my jeans patterns (they are already left over right). My T-shirts and vests are for guys as well as girls and my Man's Cut Shirt is also being made up by my many male subscribers. The shirt just needs to be changed to a left over right button band and perhaps a button band added to the cuff instead of the bound placket.

    It's a start anyway!

    Thanks for commenting.

  4. Sorry this is late. My pencil skirt pattern on my website can be extended to calf length – it's very straight, you could shape it in even more at the hemline and that would definitely be a hobble skirt.

  5. Further to my last message, you can download my free Pinafore Pattern from my website – check my channel – and just use the skirt. It is pretty much the same as my Pencil Skirt Pattern.

Good luck with it and thanks for commenting.

  6. Hi, You should be pretty safe with my Authentic Jeans Pattern and gradually widening from the knee down to the hem. Like everything, give it a try.
