Sakai Podcasts using iPhone & iTunes

Sakai Podcasts using iPhone & iTunes

Ok we are going to use the iPhone application called voice memo to record something and
then we are going to email it to ourselves by clicking the share button. So this screen capture shows I have emailed myself the voice memo, I drag it to my
desktop, and I’m going to rename it something like Kim_podcast test or something like that. Ok. So once it’s renamed I go to my Sakai site and I click on the podcast menu item and
I’m going to add a new podcast. So I browse to my desktop to upload that new file. And there it is. And then I’m going to give it a date and time and we’ll just make it the current
date and time and we’ll give it a title to let you know this is just an example podcast. Fortunately for you it is only a minute forty seven seconds long. So only the red asterisks are
required. Ok so there it is you can see it Tuesday 21 September there’s the download option. Now that’s not very convenient and a lot of people use iTunes so if they want to they can copy this
URL that is in Sakai. We are going to copy that and then we are going to go to iTunes. And we are going to go up to podcasts in our menu and you’ll see advanced, subscribe to podcasts,
paste that URL in the box. Now you can see it’s starting to download “Equality Course Two”. And there is the podcast if I double-click it it will download. And you have already heard that. Also students, if they prefer could
use an RSS feed and subscribe so that every time podcasts are updated that feed will alert them. That’s it, pretty simple!
