Podcast in 10 Min or less with Anchor FM – Full Field

Would you believe me if I told you that
in the time it takes you to watch this video you could record produce and
publish your own podcast not too long ago I wouldn’t have believed me either
but today I’m gonna tell you a way that you can do just that Hey guys, it’s Ita
Ema and you’re watching Full-Field where we focus on the latest video
trends and techniques and frame the conversation just for you. I’m a video
editor and I eat sleep and breathe digital media so when my friend
suggested that we start a podcast I thought sure how hard could that be? Much to my dismay it’s a lot harder than I thought.
Nnow to be fair being a video editor is a far cry from being an audio engineer.
Even with all the high-end audio and video equipment at my disposal I was
still struggling to turn our first set of interviews into a podcast. Creating a
podcast is not easy. You agonize over having the right equipment you have to
edit the sound mix then you have to upload the files to a server and get
them all listed on various podcasting platforms. It’s a lot of work or at least
it was I recently discovered an app called anchor FM. Anchor takes a lot of
the headaches out of creating a podcast. Now I should mention that I am in no way
affiliated with anchor I just really like the product Something that we tend
to forget is that we all carry around a device specifically designed to capture
audio in our pockets. Our phones . If you’re like me you always have your
phone with you. Anchor is an app on both iOS and Android and it allows you to
record audio clips or segments for up to 5 minutes. If you’re on the go or in the
moment Anchor makes it easy to capture whatever is on your mind. Your personal
segments aren’t the only thing that you can have on your station. Anchor provides
a selection of music or interludes that you can use to break up your content. Other things that can break up your content?
There’s call ins. Other anchor users can listen to your station and they have the
ability to call in to your station They’re basically leaving you a
voicemail message. You can then add that call to your station. Think of your
station like a talk radio call-in show. The call-in feature is a great way to
start a Q&A session with your listeners. A third way to create content for your
station is through interviews. Built into the anchor app you have the ability to
make phone calls to prospective interviewees. Both sides of the
conversation are recorded with in the app. Unlike the regular segments that you
record interviews are not limited to the 5-minute restriction. Potentially you can
load your station with an opening thought for the day you can post
questions to listeners and listeners can call in and leave comments and then you
can record your thoughts and your responses to those comments. You can use
interludes to signify a shift in the conversation. And then from there you can insert a pre-recorded clip. Oh, you can use the website interface to upload
other content from your desktop then you can move into your interviews as you
create recordings those segments will live on your station for 24 hours after
that they fall off into your archive now archive segments can always be reloaded
back into the live station you also have the option of saving your current active
station queue as an episode from there episodes can be published as your
podcast don’t have a podcast anchor has the ability to create a podcast within
the app and publish to Google Play iTunes or Apple music anchors been
around for a few years now but with these recent additions like call ins and
create a podcast even transcribed videos it’s a whole new beast it makes me think
of the early days of Twitter at first I didn’t get Twitter but look at it now I
think anchor has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing how it grows
and evolves if you’d like to learn how you can start your own anchor station
visit anchor FM or download the app for iOS or Android now I’m still an amateur
podcaster but if you’d like to hear how it works and you want to listen to one
of my sample episodes you can visit go to view from above net slash anchor
samples there’s also a link in the description below thanks for watching as
always if you like this video please take a minute to like
and tweet it and share it and if this is your first time watching I’d like to
invite you to subscribe to this channel and get your weekly dose of video
