How to Upload a Podcast on Podbean

Directions: This screencast will provide the
steps to create an account on PodBean, upload an audio file, and publish a podcast. 1. Open your Internet browser and go to this
URL: http://www.podbean.com/. 2. Sign-up for a Podbean Basic Account for
free. Create a user profile. Select a member name
for your URL, and then fill out your personal
information. PodBean will email your login and password,
so check your email account for this information and then login. You can change your password
that they give you after you login. Remember to use a strong alphanumeric password. For
example, B9C3Po has both letters and numbers in the password.
3. Once you login to your account, click the green Publish a Podcast tab on the navigation
bar. This will take you to your blue Dashboard with all your features. 4. A. Next, click the blue Upload tab on the
navigation bar on your Dashboard. 4. B. Then click the Upload button on the
Media Manager page. 5. A. Now click the Browse button on the File
Upload pop-up window. 5. B. Select an audio or video file from your
computer to upload to the Media Manager. This can come from your computer or a flashdrive.
Uploads take 1-3 minutes, so I’m not going to show you that now. You’ll see a blue progress
bar indicating the upload and a communication screen that says your upload was complete. You will now have uploaded an audio or video
file to your Media Manager, which is a resource folder. You’re now ready to create a podcast.
6. First, select the Publish tab on your Dashboard. Then select to write a post or a page. A post
is an episode for your podcast channel. The page is for writing information about your
channel. You can do that later. 7. For your post, add tags, a title, and description
in the boxes provided. Tags are adjectives that help others find the type of podcast
you publish. For example, if your podcast is about a dog, add that as a tag. If it is
funny, add that as a tag, too. 8. Now it is time to add your media file from
the drop-down menu. This draws from your files in the Media Manager. You can also select
to upload a new file, too. 9. Next, classify the File Type in the drop-down
menu as a MP3 or MP4 format. (MP3/MP4 formats are iPod Compliant. That means that anyone
with an iPod can listen to your podcast.) 10. As an optional activity, you can add an
image for iTunes in the next drop down menu. (It requires 1200×1200 jpg/png image.) This
is not required for this project. If you don’t want to add a photo of yourself, you can add
any other type of appropriate image. iTunes users will see the image when they play the
podcast. 11. To finalize your podcast, click the Publish
button. Now listen to
your new podcast to verify it plays. Remember to log off if you’re creating the podcast
on a public computer to ensure safety of your data and channel. You can share your podcast
with others by copying the link and sharing it via email or social media. Happy podcasting! Oh by the way, you’re now
a podcaster. Note: Highlights indicate integrated safety
measures for students.
