How to Remove Background Noise from an Audio Recording with Audacity

Hey guys, today we’re going to take a look
at how you can remove noise from a track using Audacity. So what I’ve done is recorded a guitar track
at a low volume, and amplified it using Audacity to increase the background noise. We’ll use this file as an example of how
you can remove background noise from your track. Now, I would normally not normally recording
the track with noise it the first place, but this is more of a worst case scenario if the
track was already recorded like that.So first we’ll listen to the unedited track. So for this effect to work, the first thing
we need to do is find a part of the track that is just noise. This will tell the noise reduction effect
what we actually want to remove, so it can remove that part and not the guitar. Ok so now that we’ve got the noise profile
for this track, we can go ahead and actually remove the noise. Before you apply the effect, we need to be
sure to select the entire track. Alright now we can apply the effect. So before you actually apply the effect to
the entire track, you can press the preview button. At this point you’ll want to make sure the
amount of noise reduction is appropriate and that it’s not having other negative effects
on the quality of your track. Ok his sounds good, so we’ll go and apply
the effect. Now the noise reduction has been applied and
we can listen back to our clean track. Alright guys thanks for watching this video
