Gravity MS QC 1 B – Quick Coupler for Microphone Clips and Boom Arms

Hi and welcome to the Adam Hall Group Studios. I would like to show you the Gravity Quick Coupler. This is a super, super useful little tool
when you’re working a lot with microphones and microphone stands,
either in a live venue or in a studio. This part here is what we call a quick coupler
and it breaks up into two parts. Like that. What you do is you mount this
onto your regular microphone stand. It has a 5/8 inch thread and with an adapter
you can also use it with a 3/8 inch thread. So there we go, it’s securely mounted onto the stand
and just by pulling back this sleeve here I can release the top part. Then, what I do is, I take the top part, I take off the adapter screw and just mount this to a regular microphone clamp. In this case it’s a nice, beautiful Gravity clamp,
but any clamp will do. There we go. And then I just snap everything
on to the microphone stand. That’s how quick you can exchange a microphone. So you could equip all your
microphones with this adapter and then just as quick as you’ve just seen it
you can interchange your microphones. Now you might ask, wait a minute, why don’t
you just take the microphone out of the clamp and put the other one in? That is a legitimate question,
but a lot of microphones are different and some even ship with their own specific clamp
and you can’t always interchange microphones onto one and the same clamp. Especially if you’re using larger studio microphones,
you might have that spider construction and taking that on and off is a real pain. And when you’ve equipped all your different mic clamps and microphones to this clamp life just becomes a whole lot easier. We also supply the top parts separately, because
in a lot of cases people have a lot of microphones and just a couple of stands,
especially in studio applications. So you don’t need to buy the whole thing all the time. You can buy a couple of these and then
just buy a whole load of the top parts which are a lot cheaper, of course,
equip all your clamps with these and then – let me just show it one more time,
because it’s so cool – just snap this on here and you’re done. The construction itself is solid. It consists out of a mix of steel and aluminium
and the sleeve here is a hard heavy-duty plastic. Well, that’s it. Thanks for watching
and check us out at gravitystands.com. I hope to see you again soon. Take care, bye bye!
