DIGITAL HR LEADERS PODCAST TRAILER – a new HR podcast with David Green

My name is David Green and I’m thrilled
to announce that I’ll be hosting an exciting new show called Digital HR
Leaders which launches in May 2019 I’ll be speaking to leaders who are at the
cutting edge of digital transformation and data-driven HR The guests on the
show will provide insights into how the people function is changing and provide
guidance to help HR professionals who are seeking to drive change within their
own organisations The first ten years of my life I worked at Merrill Lynch as an investment banker never heard of HR, didn’t even know it existed There is a level of
anxiety in those people not just in the workplace but in the world about how
they embrace digital You’ve written about work tech rather than HR tech what do you mean by that You know I think HR tech for too long has been focused on automating and process and it really has been designed for the benefit of the
employer and I think we’re at this day and age now where the power is shifting
to the employee The question that we should be asking ourselves is what skills do we have today what skills do we need for the future Organisations that are doing this well are really focusing on that gap and
understand how they leverage their current platforms, their strategic
workforce plans to be able to ensure that they are heading down the path now What do you think the role of HR will be around 2025? I love this question. I
hope in 2025 that we have seen people analytics become established core of
practice and that the function of HR seem to be using data well We might see
that HR organisations have become irrelevant I’m thinking smart contracts
on blockchain solutions incredibly intelligent and personalised
analytics really tailoring the experiences I think you’re going to
become much more automated 250 years ago running a company as a CEO or as a board or whatever was relatively easy make money that was it, you could destroy
the environment you could do horrible things to people and nobody cared as long as you made money as time has gone on we’ve realised that we have to meet a broader and broader set of needs as we should and as we need to
people and culture is the one that is now having to help companies understand their
obligations around diversity and inclusion around mental well-being so in
2025 that’s going to be right smack bang in the middle and I’m hoping that that
means that people and culture as an area is more relevant than ever So you see technology as being an opportunity for HR rather than a threat? Definitely I think we got over this oh you know AI and automation are going to come and take our jobs away you see the increase of the quality of the conversations people
have both in HR and other core centres just because they have more time
but then let’s see let’s meet again in 2025 and see whether we were right In this series
we will be speaking to a range of senior leaders who are pushing a data-driven
and digital HR agenda Make sure that you subscribe by your
podcast app of choice and also via our YouTube channel for free and regular interviews with the digital
HR leaders of the future
